With the continuous improvement of China’s economic development level and people’s living conditions,people have higher requirements for the mode of transportation,thus,cars have become the main means of transportation for people to travel,automobile collision accidents are also increasing year by year.According to a report from the United States,the most common safety accidents are vehicle-to-vehicle collisions,in which the probability of a car side crash is second only to that of a head-on collision,but the rate of death and serious injury caused by vehicle side impact accident is more serious than that caused by frontal accident.Therefore,how to minimize the damage to the driver and the passengers in the side impact accident is an urgent problem to be solved,because the research and development of airbag in our country started relatively late,the research is not deep enough.Therefore,according to the requirements of vehicle side impact regulations in China,this paper analyzes the influence of the number of airbags and the installation position on the driver’s injury.This paper takes the seat belt dummy as the research object,referring to the side impact test conditions stipulated in China’s latest C-NCAP,a finite element model of the side impact between a moving barrier and a car is established by using the finite element simulation software Hyper Works and LS-DYNA,three kinds of airbags are added,the airbag folding calculation and contact setting are carried out,and the after-treatment result is read automatically by script file(see appendix)prepared by TCL By studying the effect of the airbag in the side impact of the vehicle under various arrangements,the injury of head,chest,abdomen and pelvis of the dummy was analyzed according to the injury index,the safety of the driver is evaluated objectively.The results are as follows: 1)by analyzing the displacement nephogram of the top longitudinal beam,the door,the B pillar and the sill beam,it is found that the intrusion amount of each component far exceeds the interval between the driver and the inner panel of the door,which causes serious damage to the driver;2)by analyzing the damage index of each part of the driver under different working conditions,it is found that the seat airbag has the best protection effect on the driver’s head,chest,abdomen and pelvis under the single airbag restraint;3)the WIC value of the dummy is used to analyze the protection performance of the driver restraint system.It is found that the WIC value of the dummy is the smallest when the front airbag,the seat airbag and the side air curtain are constrained together..
