| In the past 70 years,China has built more than 20 large-span cable-stayed bridges with main spans ranging from 600 meters to 1088 meters. The country has already designed this type of axially efficient, economically feasible, fast construction speed, beautiful appearance, and cable-stayed bridges. The bridge becomes one of the most desirable beam systems. To prevent the threat of cable breakage from turning into a disaster when the cable fails(lost),because after the cable fails, there is a risk of continuous collapse, which may be devastating for cable-stayed bridges.A finite element(FE)model of a cablestayed bridge constructed according to relevant Chinese codes and standards was established. The Post Tension Institute of the United States used geometric nonlinearity for static and dynamic development and analysis.Based on the advanced finite element(FE)nonlinear dynamic simulation platform,a detailed numerical analysis of the cable failure events on the long-span stay-cable bridge is carried out.Dynamic Magnification Factor(DAF)is used to measure the cross-section of various structural elements, including cables, pylons and decks. In addition,in the damping level effect, its influence on the dynamic response of the longest cable in the lateral position is analyzed. This paper aims to study the dynamic amplification factor of a cable-stayed bridge component when a cable is accidentally broken.Based on Ansys APDL 19.1 and considering NATO traffic load, the time domain performance of cable-stayed bridges under the action of sudden loss of cable force is studied.Such research requires a lot of research and modeling work, and only the greatest response will be valuable. Therefore, the dynamic amplification factor can be used to explain the quasi-static study of dynamic effects.Parametric tests were carried out under the vehicle load of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO)to determine the impact of various important parameters related to the cable fracture mechanism and the dynamic impact caused by random traffic loads. The results show that when a single cable fails due to overloading of the vehicle, the DAF value can be less than 2. |
