In this thesis,in order to solve the problem that the resolution enhancement in the projection system is limited by the size of the physical device,we proposed a method that uses the principle of time multiplexing and birefringence to improve the resolution of the digital micromirror device(DMD)projection system.The system is realized by the cooperation of light path structure,circuit structure and code program.We used an ordinary TN-LCD display screen to modulate a wide laser beam used for illumination in the projection system,and customized the important optical component that produces light offset along the half of the diagonal of one DMD pixel.Then,we made the DMD device that loads the image information and TN-LCD realized synchronous work at the same frequency.Based on the visual perception characteristics of the human eye,the system showed a projected image with multiplied resolution enhancement.Compared with the existing research,our system structure uses static components that do not require mechanical displacement,and has higher stability,stronger reliability,stronger expandability,more novel solutions,lower cost and so on.The experimental results of the system were detected by CCD,processed,analyzed by MATLAB,and have been proved to have achieved twice the resolution enhancement.The system has also been proven to have the effect of projecting smoother text edges,improving text readability,and increasing image information in text applications.Based on the great value of DMD projection technology in various applications,the research in this thesis is dedicated to breaking the current device size limit and achieve a higher resolution in DMD projection.We hope to make some contributions in applications limited by current resolution.
