| Container multimodal transportation is a kind of container transportation, which combines at least two modes of transport.Compared with traditional container transportation mode, container multimodal transportation has many advantages, such as:lower transportation cost, fewer intermediate links, more simple procedures.Under the background of economic and trade globalization, container multimodal transportation has been greatly developed in the world.Container "sea-rail intermodal" transportation is an important part of container multimodal transportation, and it connects railway transportation and sea transportation.Under the background of "The Belt and Road" policy, developing container "sea-rail intermodal" transportation has become an important target of every major coastal trade hub.As the key hub of container "sea-rail intermodal"transportation, the port operation efficiency has an important influence on the integrated efficiency and service quality of "sea-rail intermodal" transportation system. Therefore, how to improve the comprehensive benefits of the "sea-rail intermodal" system through port operation, needs port managers to consider. In order to maximize the comprehensive benefits of the "sea-rail intermodal"system, port managers need to carry out a series of port operation activities:(1)reasonable allocation of berths and quay cranes for container ships arriving at the port;(2)route optimization of container trucks;(3)reasonable arrangement of handling time of container trains;(4)improving the handling efficiency of quay cranes, yard cranes, gantry cranes;etc.By carrying out and optimizing the activities mentioned above, port managers can shorten the handling time and stay time of container ships and trains as much as possible, and improve the service efficiency and service quality of "sea-rail intermodal" system. Most of the existing studies on "sea-rail intermodal" transportation have a single perspective and they focus on the scheduling of handling equipment, such as quay cranes, yard cranes, railway cranes and so on,and in other words, most of the studies focus on how to decrease the container handling time by improving the scheduling plan of these equipments.Few studies have considered the problems such as berth allocation and container train handling, which also affect the benefits of the "sea-rail intermodal" system. Therefore, based on the existing research gap and the comprehensive perspective of berth allocation, quay crane assignment and container train handling, this paper aims to minimize the integrated time of ship stay time and container train stay time, and to minimize the deviation of the operation time between ship and container train. In this paper,a mathematical programming model is established, and a heuristic genetic algorithm is designed to solve the problems in large-scale environment. In this paper, the mathematical model is solved by CPLEX software, and the algorithm is programmed by Python language and the numerical experiments are conducted on PyCharm platform.Through a number of numerical experiments in different environments, the results prove the necessity of the proposed model and the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. In this paper, berth allocation, quay crane assignment and container train handling are considered comprehensively. The optimization model and the corresponding algorithm are verified by numerical experiments in different environments. The results of this paper are of great significance to port operation under the background of "sea-rail intermodal" transportation and are also important to the related studies. |
