| As a kind of natural adhesive,bone glue has the advantages of wide source,low cost,no toxicity,no pollution and high bond strength.At present,bone glue has been widely used in furniture,packaging and other fields,but the research and application in highway engineering is less involved.In this study,a new type of bone glue is prepared with the coordination modification of aluminum ion.Then the new bone glue is used as a modifier to modify the original asphalt.The rheological properties are investigated by using Bruckner rotational viscosity test,dynamic shear rheological test and bending beam rheological test.The rotating thin film oven test is used to simulate the short-term aging behavior of asphalt in service.The contact angle test of asphalt before and after fuel damage is carried out,and the fuel resistance of the new bone glue modified asphalt is studied by adhesion work and peeling work.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy is used to characterize the new bone glue modified asphalt.Moreover,the improvement mechanism of the fuel resistance of the new bone glue modified asphalt is further explored by atomic force microscope.(1)The new bone glue can increase the viscosity of the original asphalt,but the mixing and compaction temperature of the modified asphalt increased only about 9℃.The new bone glue modified asphalt has better high temperature performance and its ability to resist permanent deformation is enhanced.Although the new bone glue does not improve the high temperature PG grade of the original asphalt,the failure temperature of the new bone glue modified asphalt is higher than that of the original asphalt.The results of the bending beam rheological test show that the new bone glue has limited improvement on the low temperature crack resistance of the original asphalt.(2)Compared with the original asphalt,the complex modulus aging index and the loss modulus aging index of the new bone glue modified asphalt decrease,while the phase angle aging index increase,its change range of rheological parameters before and after aging decreased.It indicates that the new bone glue can improve the aging performance of the original asphalt.(3)The new bone glue can increase the surface energy of the original asphalt,the adhesion work improved about 9%,and the spalling work reduced about 1%.It indicates that the adhesion of the new bone glue modified asphalt to the aggregate is better than that of the original asphalt.After fuel damage,the mass loss of the new bone glue modified asphalt is smaller,and the effect of fuel damage on its high temperature performance and adhesion is smaller than that of the original asphalt.The microscopic morphology before and after fuel damage shows that fuel will destroy the "bee like structure" of asphalt,which will reduce their adhesion to aggregates.But the new bone glue modified asphalt has better fuel resistance than the original asphalt. |
