| In recent years,environmental problems and energy crisis prompted government to introduce various incentives to promote the development of pure electric vehicles.But the lithium-ion batteries which widely used in electric vehicles are extremely sensitive to temperature and must be thermally managed.Heat pipe is a high-efficiency element for heat exchange,the phase change of the medium in the pipe resulting in heat absorption and heat release.Heat pipe with the characteristics of high thermal conductivity and no additional energy consumption has been widely studied for thermal management.This article takes cylindrical lithium battery as the research object.By analyzing the composition and working principle of the battery,the thermal characteristics of the single lithium battery are analyzed and the thermal model of the single battery is established,aiming at the environment of central and southern regions.The heat pipe battery thermal management system is designed,and the thermal management performance of the system is simulated and analyzed.In this paper,theoretical analysis,numerical simulation and experimental verification was used to research the heat dissipation effect of heat pipe battery thermal management system in high temperature environment and the heating effect in low temperature environment.Research and analysis of the role of thermal insulation materials in low temperature environments was also researched.The main research work and innovation of this article are as follows:(1)Lithium-ion battery heat generation model was established.Temperature field transient simulation of battery under different discharge rate are studied and analyzed.The distribution regulation and uniformity of temperature field in battery and the battery temperature uniformity are obtained.(2)Based on the simplified simulation model of the heat pipe cooling fins at the condensed end of the heat pipe,a simulation model of the heat pipe thermal management system of power battery was constructed.Battery temperature distribution,temperature change and heat pipe thermal management system under high temperature environment in the central south china were studied.The research results show that the system has a good control effect on the temperature and temperature difference of the battery box.(3)Based on the low temperature environment in central south china,the battery with heat pipe thermal management was studied.Also,the battery covered with foam insulation material was studied.The results show that the heat pipe thermal management system of power battery made the battery reached a suitable temperature range within a certain period.This time decreases with the temperature of the heated air and the discharge rate of the battery,and thermal insulation materials could further shorten the battery heating time and significantly reduce the rate of natural battery cooling. |
