As the key part of the steel structure, the joint mainly plays an important role in connecting members and transferring loads,so the joint is prone to stress concentration.Any large deformation or failure of the joint will affect the safety and reliability of the structure,so it is necessary to focus on the joint research And the rotational deformation capacity of the joint is mainly provided by the equivalent T-stub in the tensile zone, therefore, the research on the T-stub is of great significance.High strength steel has better properties than common steel. The use of high-strength steel in building structure can not only meet the requirements of bearing capacity, but also reduce the use of building materials, which is very popular with architectural designers at home and abroad. However, there are still some deficiencies in the research of tensile behavior of high-strength steel T-stub.First,as a new material, the experimental data of relevant research is very poor.Second, there is a lack of structural design code for high-strength steel at home and abroad. Therefore,it is very important to investigate the tensile behavior of high strength steel T-stub.In this paper, the tensile behavior of high-strength steel T-stub were investigated by experiment and finite element method.First of all,ten T-stub specimens were fabricated, eight of which were made of Q690 steel, the other two of which were made of Q460 steel and Q235 steel respectively. The test results showed that the bolt diameter, distance between location of critical sections where plastic hinges can develop and steel properties had a significant impact on the tensile behavior of T-stub,while the distance between prying force and bolt axis had less impact than these three parameters.Furthermore, the finite element analysis model was established by using the finite element software ABAQUS.By comparing the load displacement curve and failure modes obtained by the test and the finite element method,it was found that the finite element simulation results were in good agreement with the test results. In order to further verify the reliability of the finite element model, the same modeling method is used to model the test specimens of relevant scholars. The results show that the finite element model proposed in this paper can better show the tensile properties of high-strength steel T-stub.Finally,based on the validated finite element model, the parametric study of high strength steel T-stub were analyzed. Those parameters include flange thickness, distance between two bolts on the same side, bolt stress and bolt preload. The results show that flange thickness has a large effect on the tensile behavior of the T-stub,while distance between two bolts on the same side and the bolt size have less effect, and the preload has an effect on the initial stiffness of the T-stub.This study provides a valuable data base for the design and construction of high-strength steel T-stub and the formulation of specifications...
