The Impact Of Aberrant Truck Driver Behaviors On Accident Involvement

The wide-ranging and deep popularization of information and communication technology has injected new vitality into the demand for social logistics services,and the increasing frequency of transportation and distribution activities.As an indispensable part of China’s comprehensive transportation system,road freights’volume also climbed year by year.While road freights bring economic benefits to society,there are some dangers in traffic safety,which not only becomes an unsafe factor in transportation activities,but also has a negative impact on the economic development of enterprises.In order to explore the main variables that affect the driving safety of truck drivers,and then reducing the frequency and severity of accidents,protecting people’s lives and property,and providing academic implications for improving the safety of the freight industry,this article takes the truck driver as the research object,while controlling its population attribute variables,through its aberrant driving behaviors to analyzes its driving safety.In order to achieve this research objective,this paper firstly based on the existing research results,and combined with the demographic characteristics of the truck drivers in China,(age,driving age,BMI and educated level)and 4 types of aberrant driving behaviors were selected(errors,violations,aggressive violations and distracted driving).Then make reasonable assumptions about the correlation between the above variables with accident involvement.Secondly,a questionnaire about aberrant behaviors of truck drivers was compiled to collect the required data.SPSS20 was used to make descriptive statistics and show the demographics and driving behaviors of truck drivers;further analysis verifies that the questionnaire in this paper has high reliability and validity.It can also provide references for other similar studies while ensuring the accuracy of the results of this study.Thirdly,a logistic regression model is established to analyze the impact of demographic variables and aberrant behaviors on its accident involvement,and verify the previous hypothesis.Finally,based on the research results,this article puts forwards the accidents prevention countermeasures of truck drivers in terms of economic,ideology and practical training,in order to improve freight safety and create a harmonious transportation environment.which has certain management implications for regulating driving behaviors and improving freight safety.
