With the increasing demand for economic power supply in China,it’s a major way of using nuclear power generation to solve the problem of power shortage in southeast coastal areas of China.Compared with traditional power generation methods such as hydropower and coal and electricity,it’s an important of affecting normal operation to intake cooling water in nuclear power plants. However, many nuclear power plants in southeast coastal are located downstream of the Yangtze River Estuary, and are vulnerable to extreme weather such as typhoons—in other words, the suspended sediment is mainly carried by the Yangtze River and it is a significant influence for current-wave.In view of this,Sediment and wave current have a significant effect on intake-outlet,and particularly sediment deposition in the intake should be further studied on whether or not it can get cooling water. In this paper, taking Cangnan nuclear power plant as the research object and combining with the characteristics of the wave current in the coastal area of Zhejiang.According to the analysis results of the measured wave data, the mid tide in summer is selected as the representative tidal level, and the extreme a nd normal wave conditions are combined.Through the physical model test under different current-wave conditions, the sediment concentration in the intake of water intake, the change of the flow field in the engineering area and the sediment scouring and silting form of the intake are emphatically analyzed. On this basis, the water intake condition of cooling water near the intake is demonstrated. On this basis, the water intake conditions near the intake are demonstrated. The experiment shows that:1.Except the reflux is strengthening in diversion dike and drainage open channel, there is a little influence for the flow field.2.Under the combined action of different current-wave conditions, that is the representative tide and storm tide, the low tide and storm tide, and the representative tide and annual mean wave, the sediment concentration of water intake is about0.14kg/m~3,2.86kg/m~3 and 3.76kg/m~3 respectively.Although the sediment concentration at the intake is very large under extreme current-wave conditions,it is short not to pose a major threat to the safe diversion of power plants.3.Under the combined action of different current-wave conditions, that is the representative tide and storm tide, the low tide and storm tide, and the representative tide and annual mean wave, the average sediment thickness of the intake is about0.34m,0.46m and 0.03m respectively.Under the three wave current conditions, the sediment deposition thickness meets the requirements of power plant operation. In view of this, under different current-wave conditions and arrangement of intake-outlet,the flow field, intake volume and sediment thickness of the intake port in nuclear power plant conform to the operation requirements of the power plant. The research can provide reference for the evolution rule of water and sediment in nuclear power plants.
