The reaction characteristics of hydrogasification of Shenfu coal with biomass char and Shenfu coal char with biomass ash were studied in a pressurized fixed bed reactor.Through the analysis of the gaseous product components, especially the release rate of CH4,it has been found that the process of coal hydrogasification can be divided into two stages. In Stage 1,the main reactions were the devolatilization and secondary hydrogenation of coal;in Stage 2,the reaction mainly took place was the hydrogasification of the carbon in the coal.Among the whole gaseous product of the coal hydrogasification, more than 90%of CO2 and CO were generated in Stage 1 and more than 80%of CH4 was generated in Stage 2;the promoting effect of biomass char on Shenfu coal hydrogasification was obvious in the second stage. The physicochemical characteristics of biomass ashes made at different temperatures had been analyzed, and the results showed that ashes(600℃)had the best catalytic effect;the loading saturation level of biomass ash was about 30%.Si,Al and Cl would weaken the catalysis of alkali metals, and it had been found that Cl had a more significant inhibiting effect for the hydrogasification of Shenfu coal char compared with the same molecular weight of Si.The results of study on CaO catalyzed hydrogasification of Shenfu coal char with loading biomass ashes indicates that, the inhibitory effects of Si,Al and Cl to alkali metals would be weaken when CaO was loaded. The chlorine rich biomasses would show better catalytic effect when CaO was loaded to biomass particles before biomass ashes had been made;while the silicon and aluminum rich biomasses would be more appropriate to loading CaO to the biomass ashes directly.
