Lead-acid batteries are the most commonly used electric motor vehicle batteries.The management system of charging is an important factor affecting the battery performance and service life of lead-acid battery.The current charge management method used in lead-acid batteries is to determine the charging situation by monitoring the voltage of the battery.This paper compares the conventional charge management style with the barometric charge management by experiment analysis and theoretical basis.Obtained the advantages of pneumatic charging management,and carried out the design of pneumatic charging management for sealed lead-acid battery.The beginning of this paper shows the basic structure,working principle of lead-acid battery charging,charging mechanism,mode and charging management mode.This paper also expounds the internal plate lead-acid battery charging process and the electrolyte electrochemical reactions occur at different stages of charging,briefly analysed the changing voltage in the process of charging.Current conventional charging management style is testing the process of charging by judging the voltage of the battery,but the voltage of battery is influenced byf many external and internal factors,such as charging temperature,the working life of the battery,the degree of plate activity of active material,various enterprises electrolyte concentration and size of the charging current,etc.,and the circuit structure is complicated,so this charging control methods of Lead-acid batteries have some defects.During the process of charging of Sealed lead-acid battery,due to the side effects(when the air pressure inside the closed cell increases),when it comes close to the fully-charged stage of the batteries,the gas chromatography can intuitive reactions lead battery charging.By conducting experiments and analyzing data,I come to the conclusion through the experiments:it is more sensitive to judge the degree of charging by monitoring the pressure of the batteries than the traditional ways.Using the air pressure inside the battery as the basis of determine whether charge more accurately than with voltage as the criterion,and is affected by the environment temperature is relatively smaller voltage type charging management,it is not easy to cause the battery overcharge and less charge.It can greatly prolong the service life of the sealed Lead-acid batteries.Therefore it is economic,feasible and practical to use the charging management equipped with air pressure switch.I also designed the Lead-acid battery pack equipped with air pressure switch.Combined the sealed battery monomers together with air pressure pipes,and make sure to balance the pressure inside of every Lead-acid battery monomer.The pressure inside of the battery monomers is becoming higher and higher when the Lead-acid battery-pack is nearly charged,according to the adverse event of gassing in side of the batteries.When the pressure value reaches to the settled pneumatic valve,the management system will stop charging.According to the design,make the specific implementation case and give the on-site assembly test(This design has applied for a patent for utility model and invention patent).The results of this study have applied for the invention of patent and utility model,and the patent number is 201710160320.7.The patent number of utility model patent is:201720266845.4.
