As steel is widely used in society, many long-term corrosion in steel works environment,it is difficult to avoid corrosion by protective measures.Steel surface rust pits produced, reducing the ductility and fracture toughness of steel to accelerate their crack initiation and propagation, resulting in local stress concentration of steel, have a very big impact on their seismic performance. In this paper, neutral salt spray corrosion of steel columns for the study, using experimental, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation methods to study the effects of corrosion on steel columns seismic performance. The results would provide technical support and theoretical basis for the assessment of existing seismic behavior of steel. In this paper, the research work includes the following aspects:(1)automatic sprinkler outdoor salt spray periodically by accelerated corrosion method, the neutral salt spray corrosion of Q235 B steel columns were quick to give the corrosion time was 4,6,8 months 3 batches of varying degrees of corrosion the H-shaped steel columns.(2)In the end column corroded sheet specimen taken for the study, the use of DNS300 electronic universal testing machine, corroded sheet of 12 specimens were monotonic tensile test, studied the extent of corrosion on the plate specimen failure modes, mechanics performance and stress-strain curve.(3)not to carry out a rust and corrosion of steel columns 3 cyclic load performance were studied under low cyclic load neutral salt spray corrosion steel column hysteretic performance, analyzes the intensity of corrosion of steel columns, stiffness, hysteresis curve skeleton curves, impact, energy dissipation and ductility factor, revealing the neutral salt spray corrosion steel columns seismic performance degradation mechanisms.By means of finite element software(ANSYS),the seismic performance of corroded steel columns were analyzed, and the results were compared.Using the finite element method analysis of the variation of different axial compression ratio corroded steel column hysteretic performance, revealing rusting steel columns for corrosion failure mode, hysteretic curves, skeleton curves, strength, stiffness, impact energy.Finite element analysis results show that with the increase of axial compression ratio, rusting steel column hysteresis curve of the full extent under low cyclic load decreases, the strength and stiffness degradation occurs, capacity and ductility decreased significantly, and with axial compression ratio increases, the more obvious of these phenomena.
