Indoor air pollution caused by decoration and other reasons seriously threatens human health, but also restricts the speed of social development and progress.Activated carbon is favored because of its own economy, high efficiency and general application to the adsorption of various places, but there are few competitive adsorption studies on activated carbon multi-air pollutants that are suitable for low indoor pollutant concentrations, many types, and indoor environments in different seasons, different regions with wide temperature differences and large humidity changes. In this paper, the adsorption penetration curve of a kind of activated carbon on typical indoor pollutants(benzene, formaldehyde)and the penetration curve of benzene and formaldehyde in different proportions of competitive adsorption were measured under different working conditions, and the results showed that increasing the initial concentration will increase the adsorption amount to a certain extent, increasing humidity will reduce the adsorption amount of benzene and formaldehyde, but due to the different polarity of the two,the degree of influence of humidity is different;the adsorption effect of activated carbon on benzene is better than formaldehyde, and the adsorption amount of benzene is greater than formaldehyde when competing adsorption.Benzene can replace the formaldehyde that has been adsorbed by activated carbon, forming a peaking effect. In addition,on the basis of experiments, using molecular simulation software, according to the physical and chemical properties of a brand of commercial activated carbon used and related theories, with the help of specific surface area tester and scanning electron microscope, the adsorption performance data of activated carbon is organically related with the structural characteristic parameters of activated carbon and the physical characteristics of adsorption matter, and the adsorption effects of benzene and formaldehyde under different pore sizes and working conditions are explored through the simulation method of Grand Canonical Monte Carlo. The results show that the pore size of activated carbon is one of the key factors affecting its adsorption effect,in three different pore sizes of 1,2,4 nm,benzene adsorption increases linearly with the increase of pore size, but formaldehyde adsorbs the best adsorption effect in activated carbon with 2nm pore size;on the basis of the theory of activated carbon micro-scale adsorption, the correlation between the selective and competitive adsorption characteristics of organic matter in activated carbon and its physical properties-pore size is studied by using the established model of activated carbon property parameters and adsorbent property parameters. The results of the competitive adsorption of formaldehyde and benzene under different pore sizes and different ratios were compared, and the results showed that in micropores or mesoporouses with large pore size, the adsorption effect of benzene was better than formaldehyde, but the adsorption effect was not as good as formaldehyde in small pores.
