| Mineral resources play a huge role in promoting the process of economic and social development of mankind. With the exploitation and use of mineral resources and the lack of proper understanding of the ecology of mining areas and other aspects in the early days, most of them are used up and abandoned, and the abandoned areas are constantly surrounded by new functional urban land, adding to the pressure and contradictions of urban land use,and eventually the abandoned land gradually becomes a negative presence in the city In the end, abandoned areas have become a negative part of the city and a scar on the earth. With the diversification of urban development, the traditional approach to the management and transformation of abandoned mining areas is unable to meet the current requirements of ecological civilisation and sustainable urban development. This thesis attempts to explore how to renew and activate abandoned urban mining sites from the perspective of ecological restoration from the perspective of landscape design, taking into account various elements, exploring the potential of the site landscape, choosing a scientific regeneration model, revitalising and rejuvenating the site, and creating an ecological virtuous cycle,a healthy and sustainable development model.Through reading literature and related materials, the project explores the connection between ecological restoration theory and urban abandoned mining areas, draws on relevant studies and excellent cases of ecological restoration of abandoned sites at home and abroad, analyses four design examples including Eden Project Garden and Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, and summarises the project design features of abandoned site activation in the excellent cases, considers experiences and directions to be learnt. It also discusses the characteristics of abandoned mine sites in terms of landscape, ecology and humanities, and seeks to outline more effective and scientific design principles and strategies for urban abandoned mine sites, explore the conservation and development of urban abandoned mine sites,so as to activate abandoned mine sites, change the single transformation mode of the past, make abandoned mine sites better integrate into urban development, improve land use efficiency and relieve urban land conflicts. On the basis of the above theory and research, the current basic situation of the mine site, its advantages and disadvantages are analysed based on policy documents such as the Dalian City Territorial Spatial Master Plan(2021-2035),and the current environmental situation of the abandoned mine site of Zhongge San Mine in Dalian City is used as a case study and practice. The advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and challenges of this mine site are comprehensively analysed. The unique geomorphology of Zhongge San Mine and the existing landscape elements of the mine site are comprehensively considered, and the design principles for the treatment of soil, vegetation, water bodies and the reuse of waste are summarised on the basis of the design concept and design ideas for the ecological restoration of abandoned mine sites.,different functions such as ecological restoration, recreation, mountain experience and science education are integrated into the site to provide more design possibilities and to improve the design of the plant configuration, lighting facilities, public facilities and public signage system of the abandoned mine site in Zhongge San mine. The design of the plant configuration, lighting facilities, public facilities and public signage system in the site has been completed. |
