Recently, our country’s economic has grown rapidly and the population is increasing day by day. That caused the mission of a large number of agricultural pollutants and domestic waste.Landfill is the main treatment of domestic waste in our country. In the use of groundwater,Landfill leachate which will harm human health has the risk of groundwater pollution, and groundwater pollution is difficult to be detected and found. In this study, the downstream area of the municipal solid waste landfill site in Fuxin City was selected as the research object, and the groundwater and soil in the area were investigated, studied and evaluated. The paper discusses the groundwater quality and pollution characteristics of the study area, using EPA and RBCA health risk assessment models to analyze and evaluate the health risks of the groundwater pollutants in the studied area to the human body, and uses the Muller Geological Cumulative Index method. Also, the health risk assessment model are applied to analyze and evaluate the soil of the study area. The results show that the groundwater in the study area is not suitable for residents to drink.Under the EPA and RBCA health risk assessment models, when people are in this groundwater environment for a long time, there is a risk of cancer. At the same time, the total non carcinogenic hazard quotient is higher than 1,which will cause non carcinogenic harm to human health.According to Muller geological cumulative index method, the average value of soil heavy metal pollution index from high to low is Cd > Pb > Zn > Cu > Ni> Cr> As,and the pollution of Cd is the most seriously.Through the health risk assessment of soil, the results showed that only Cd and As had carcinogenic risk through oral intake, but within the acceptable range. While skin contact and respiratory inhalation,it did not cause carcinogenic risk to local residents. Moreover, the total non carcinogenic hazard quotient of each soil sampling point only exceeded the standard limit value of 1 by oral intake, and there was a non carcinogenic risk.
