There is a demand for gap measurement in many fields,especially in the production process of parts in chemical industry.The size reduction of chemical plant equipment leads to higher requirements for precision of parts,so it is imperative to produce high-precision industrial parts.If the measurement error occurs during the initial modeling of parts,it is very likely to cause mistakes in the production of parts,which will eventually lead to the short service life of equipment and low product qualification rate.Accurate measurement is very important in the production process of chemical industrial parts.Once an accident occurs,it will cause serious impact on the environment.In this paper,a handheld laser measuring device based on image processing is developed and applied to the crack measuring of chemical industrial parts,which can not only meet the measurement accuracy but also control the cost.The main components of the device are a laser and a camera.First,the laser generates a laser beam that illuminates the surface of the part to be tested.At the same time,the camera captures a picture of the surface of the part;Then,Open CV is used to process the collected image and mark the position of the laser line.In the plane cartesian coordinate system,the pixel distance of the labeled laser line is determined,and the precise value of the gap in the industrial parts is determined by the function relationship between the coordinate information of the laser line and the real data of the gap.The device can realize the instant test results,and can carry out nondestructive measurement,reducing the cost.Compared with the traditional measurement methods,this method has the advantages of simple operation,fast measurement speed,high accuracy and low cost.It can be popularized on a large scale and has high application value.The hand-held laser measuring device based on image processing developed in this paper is mainly used in measuring the surface cracks of elastic couplings in chemical industry.It can be found that there are many threads on the surface of the elastic coupling,which is an integrated metal elastomer.Its role is to make the power transmission more smooth,which can well protect the driving force of chemical equipment.High precision elastic coupling is conducive to increasing the service life of chemical equipment.
