With the continuous development of society and the increasing population of the world, the output of food waste is gradually increasing. As a exploitable environment-friendly insect,Hermetia illucens can transform the nutrients in organic waste into its own protein and fat.Treatment of food waste with Hermetia illucensngea can not only effectively reduce the impact of food waste on the environment, but also produce a high-quality feed.It completes the resource utilization of kitchen waste well. However,in engineering application, the characteristics of food waste will affect the growth and nutrient content of Hermetia illucens. Therefore,on the basis of determining the culture conditions, this experiment studied the effects of different nutrient levels on the growth of Hermetia illucens, studied the effects of different content of water and salt of food waste on the growth of Hermetia illucens, and adjusted the nutrient content by adding wheat bran into food waste to weaken or strengthen the growth efficiency and material reduction process of Hermetia illucens. The results of feeding temperature and density show that when the environmental temperature is 27℃,the larvae of the Hermetia illucens show better growth performance and better transformation of substances. When the feeding density is 0.96 larva/cm~2,the growth performance of Hermetia illucens is the best, but the conversion efficiency of substances is very low.Considering the growth and material transformation ability of Hermetia illucens comprehensively, the feeding density of 1.92 larva/cm~2 is the best.By analyzing the nutritional components of the materials before and after feeding,it was found that the main substances consumed in the biotransformation process were protein, fat and carbohydrate. The results of single factor experiment with the main components in the food waste showed that when the content of crude protein was 16~23%,the content of crude fat was 3~11%and the content of carbohydrate was 41~53%,it showed better growth performance. The content of insect protein increases with the increase of crude protein in food, but the content of fat decreases. The crude fat content of insects increased with the increase of crude fat in food, while the protein content decreased. With the increase of carbohydrate level in food, the crude fat content of insects increased and the content of protein decreased. The results of water content and salt content of food waste show that with the increase of water content in food waste, the growth performance of Hermetia illucens will continue to decline, and the survival rate of Hermetia illucens can not be guaranteed at80%water content; With the increase of salt content in food waste, the growth performance of Hermetia illucens will be affected, the growth time of larvae will be prolonged, but all of them can complete pre-pupation,and the weight of larvae will decrease continuously. The results of mixing food waste with wheat bran showed that when using food waste to produce larvae with high fat content, the best addition of wheat bran was 10%,and the fat production increased by 27.40%.When produce high protein content larvae, the best addition of wheat bran was 30%,and the yield of protein increased by 48.33%.By comparing the contents of amino acids and fatty acids between Hermetia illucens and other conventional feeds,it can be determined that Hermetia illucens is suitable as protein feed and high-quality substitute, and the quality of essential amino acids in worm powder has reached the standards determined by FAO/WHO.Through the economic cost analysis, when environmental protection enterprises treat 10 tons of food waste every day by using the Hermetia illucens, the annual income can reach 1.735 million yuan, which reflects that the Hermetia illucens have great potential and commercial prospects in large-scale treatment.
