Carbon aerogel has the obvious characteristics of large specific surface area,high conductivity,high porosity,and low density.It meets the basic requirements of smoke screen materials,but the application of it to smoke screen materials is still in its infancy.Researchers have only initially confirmed The possibility of using carbon aerogel as a new type of smoke screen material.In this paper,experimental methods and computational simulation are used to study the infrared extinction characteristics of a new type of carbon aerogel smoke screen material.First,the preparation of the carbon aerogel block material was completed based on the sol-gel method,and the porous carbon aerogel block material with a carbon content of more than 94% was obtained;the block material was processed into ultra-superstructure by mechanical ball milling.For fine powder materials,the influence of process parameters such as ball-to-material ratio and ball milling time on the characteristics of the powder has been systematically studied.Secondly,using the indoor smoke screen performance test method,the carbon aerogel smoke screen material’s infrared extinction performance test was carried out,and the carbon aerogel smoke screen material’s infrared attenuation rate,blanking performance and mass extinction coefficient and other extinction characteristics were systematically studied,and established The relationship between milling time,particle size,mass concentration and other factors and its extinction performance.Third,the bulk samples with different carbon aerogel contents were prepared by pouring method and tableting method,and the surface morphology and roughness of the samples were characterized by atomic force microscope,and then the samples were tested by ellipsometry in ultraviolet-near infrared.The complex refractive index in the infrared and infrared bands laid the foundation for the calculation and simulation of the infrared extinction performance of carbon aerogel particles.Finally,the FDTD method was used to construct the extinction calculation model of carbon aerogel smoke screen particles,and the correctness and accuracy of the model were verified.The calculation of spherical and disc-shaped carbon aerogel particles at wavelengths of 1 μm to 14 μm Infrared extinction performance within the range,the influence of shape,radius,thickness and other factors on its infrared extinction performance was studied.The theoretical and experimental results obtained from the research work in this paper reveal the influence of the shape,size,processing technology and other factors on the infrared extinction characteristics of carbon aerogel materials,laying a good technology for the development of new high-performance carbon aerogel smoke screen materials basis.
