Study On Ecological Carrying Capacity Evaluation And Sustainable Development Of Suzhou

As one of the regions with the fastest urbanization development in China,the rapid economic development in southern Jiangsu has deepened the contradiction between development and environment.It is of great significance to carry out the evaluation of regional ecological carrying capacity for the healthy and sustainable development of its ecosystem.This paper constructs the index system of ecological carrying capacity in southern Jiangsu from three aspects:ecological elasticity,supporting capacity of carrying media and pressure of carrying objects.Taking Suzhou City(urban area)as a case study,the weights of index layer are determined by principal component analysis(PCA)and criteria layer and factor layer are determined by analytic hierarchy process(AHP).The data from 2011 to 2018 were processed with extreme difference,and the ecological carrying capacity of Suzhou from 2011 to 2018 was calculated by using the comprehensive grading evaluation model,and the trend of ecological carrying capacity was analyzed.The results show that: the overall trend of ecological carrying capacity index of Suzhou from2011 to 2018 is stable,and the level of carrying capacity has been in the state of medium carrying capacity.The subsystem of ecological elasticity has experienced the evolution process from weak stability to high stability to medium stability;the subsystem of supporting force carrying media has experienced the evolution process from low support to medium support to strong support to medium support;the subsystem of pressure bearing object has experienced the evolution process from low pressure to medium pressure to high pressure.Using the sustainable development analysis method based on ecological carrying capacity,this paper makes linear regression analysis on the three subsystems to judge the sustainable development ability of Suzhou,and obtains the sustainable development degree of Suzhou.The results show that Suzhou is in the state of sustainable development from2011 to 2018.According to the development of each subsystem of Suzhou’s ecological carrying capacity,the main influencing factors are analyzed.It is found that hydro logical conditions,resource supply,environmental governance and population pressure have a greater impact on the carrying capacity.From these perspectives,this paper puts forward some strategies to improve Suzhou’s ecological carrying capacity and promote sustainable development,so as to provide reference for the construction of ecological civilization.
