Research On The Impact Of Low-carbon City Policies On Corporate Environmental Social Responsibility Performance

With the increasingly prominent ecological and environmental problems,how to alleviate environmental degradation and realize the harmonious co-generation of man and nature has become one of the focuses of the country and society.Mitigating environmental problems and promoting sustainable development have become important trends in my country’s future development.As one of the important subjects of national social life,it is foreseeable that the state will conduct stricter supervision and intervention on the environmental problems caused by enterprises.The changes in the environment of the times put forward the requirements of green governance for enterprises.Therefore,how to promote corporate green governance and improve corporate environmental performance is a problem worthy of consideration and research.Based on the background of China’s promotion of ecological civilization construction and corporate green transformation,this article attempts to explore whether the implementation of low-carbon city pilot policies can improve the performance of corporate environmental social responsibilities.First,understand the current research status of relevant domestic and foreign research through literature reading,and then conduct theoretical derivation on this basis,and analyze the mechanism of low-carbon city pilot policies on corporate environmental social responsibility performance level,and establish a theoretical framework for the impact of low-carbon city pilot policies on corporate environmental social responsibility performance level and put forward the theoretical hypothesis of this article.After that,by collecting relevant data,it mainly uses the difference-in-difference method to test and reveal the relationship between the implementation of low-carbon city pilot policies and the level of corporate environmental social responsibility performance and its mechanism.The empirical results show that:(1)The implementation of pilot policies for low-carbon cities can improve the performance of corporate environmental social responsibilities in pilot areas;(2)Green innovation is an mediator variable for low-carbon city pilot policies to play a role in the performance of corporate environmental social responsibilities;(3)The impact of low-carbon city pilot policies on corporate environmental social responsibility performance level is affected by the institutional environment,the level of corporate internal governance,and ownership nature.Among companies in areas with better institutional environments,companies with better internal governance levels,and state-owned companies,low-carbon city pilot policies have a more obvious role in promoting the level of corporate environmental social responsibility performance.This research has certain theoretical and practical significance.It not only enriches the research related to low-carbon city construction and corporate social responsibility,but also builds a theoretical framework for the impact of low-carbon city pilot policies on corporate environmental social responsibility performance level,provides a new direction for us to explore the relationship between environmental regulations and corporate green governance,and also provides a reference for the evaluation of the policy effect of lowcarbon city pilot policies.
