The environmental pollution caused by oil spills has received increasing attention from domestic and foreign governments,and more and more countries have begun to establish and improve oil spill monitoring systems.When the oil spill accident occurs,in addition to enhancing the safety awareness and operation level of the operators,how to quickly determine the oil spill region,grasp the oil spill spreading trend,and provide effective location information and decision-making basis for cleaning up the oil,is the primary task the oil spill pollution control.Therefore,the advanced instruments and scientific oil spill detection methods are needed to timely detect oil spills,monitor changes in oil film,and improve emergency response and oil spill handling capabilities.The current oil film detection technology is difficult to detect oil film without diffusion,and it is difficult to accurately measure the area of oil films.To solve this problem,this paper proposes a method for identifying and calculating the area of oil film on the sea surface based on thermal infrared images.The 8-14μm infrared thermal imager is used to obtain the image data of sea surface.The image processing technique is used to extract and mark the oil film region of interest(ROI).The main research results of this paper are as follows:(1)The method for detecting and calculating the area of oil film on the sea surface based on thermal infrared images is proposed.The collected thermal infrared image are preprocessed by gray conversion,median filtering and sharpening.Based on the gray characteristics of each image,the oil film region of interest is segmented.The morphological algorithm is used to process the segmented binary image,and the ROI is marked by taking the intersection of the binary image and the original thermal infrared image.The actual physical area of ROI is calculated based on the small hole imaging model and the pixel area calculation method.Three oil samples with different viscosities were used to conduct oil film image acquisition experiments under 6 different external environments(normal light,low light,no light,waves,sea winds and sea fogs).The experimental results show that this method can realize the effective detection and area calculation of oil film under different external conditions.(2)The oil film detection method based on visible and thermal infrared image fusion is proposed.The image registration of side-by-side configuration is performed to realize the scale factor normalization and offset correction.The Principal Component Analysis(PCA)fusion is used to obtain multi-information fused images.Through the analysis of the fused image of 2 kinds of oil samples under 3 illumination conditions(normal illumination,blue illumination and none illumination),it is proved that the method can achieve effective detection results.(3)The early oil spill identification method based on thermal infrared video images is proposed.Combined with the diffusion principle of oil spill,the proposed method can extend the single-frame image processing to multi-frame to identify the early spreading oil spill on the sea surface.The inter-frame region tracking is used to mark the continuously diffused region.The oil film are identified according to the change rate of area.The experiment results shows that the proposed method is easy to operate,fast and effective.Meanwhile,it can accurately and timely control oil leakage even with wave and floating objects interference. |
