| There has been alarming employee job dissatisfaction at the construction sector since 2015,when economic crisis has hit the country.This master’s thesis looks at the factors influencing employee job satisfaction at the NormLLC.,which is the biggest cement producer company in the South Caucasus region.The thesis sought answers to the following research question: What are the main factors influencing employee job satisfaction in the construction sector in Azerbaijan? The research is based on both quantitative and qualitative research methods.Primary data used in the research is collected through online survey that is completed by the employees of the NormLLC.In addition,a few interviews were conducted with the managers and supervisors in order to account for the managerial perspective on the job satisfaction at the NormLLC.According to the findings of this master’s thesis,there is a strong correlation between the independent variables – family and work balance,work relationship,training and development,recognition and the compensation package – and the dependent variable of job satisfaction.Other variables such as general working conditions,leadership and promotion opportunities are not found to be significantly influential over the employee job satisfaction at the NormLLC.Such a study has not been conducted in the case of Azerbaijan covering the above said variables.Therefore,this study attempts to fill this gap in literature to a certain extent.The thesis has mapped out the factors that are the main determinants of employee job satisfaction at the NormLLC.Moreover,it found out the number of issues which have been cause of employee job dissatisfaction such as overtime working hours and inefficient performance appraisal procedure.This research has not just disclosed the main factors influencing employee job satisfaction,it also provided tangible recommendations to address the problems. |
