Under the weak non-covalent force interaction,the nanometer soft materials were obtained by solvent solidified to the low molecular weight organogelators,which to obtain three-dimensional fiber structure.Gel materials have lots of contributions in sensors,nanomaterial and drug-controlled release,etc.,which have the advantage of thermal reversibility,sensitivity and thixotropy.More and more researchers are trying to achieve the desired organogelators.(1)Introducing of low molecular weight organogels(LMOGS),we summarize the effect of solvents on gel results.The self-assembly gels with driving forces promoting are described in detail.According to the types of stimulus-response,we reviewed the progress of organogels from coumarin skeleton.(2)Dye pollution brings a serious problem for the environment,to protect the environment,three novel coumarin-chalcone derived organogelators Y1-3 were designed and synthesized with different hydrophobic alkyl units.Organogelators Y1-3exhibit gelation behavior in tert-butanol,isopropanol,n-butanol,ethyl acetate and tert-amyl alcohol.The XRD,FT-IR and SEM studies speculated the presence ofπ-πstacking,Van der Waals interaction and intermolecular H-bonding in the self-assembly of gels Y1-3.The increase of alkyl chain made the lamellar network structure of the xerogel larger and the gap increase,which was beneficial to the adsorption of dyes in water.Gels Y1-3reveal irreversible gelation behavior after UV light.(3)Based on coumarin-chalcone derived organogelators Y2-3,two novel coumarin-based pyrazoline derivatives organogel factors were synthesized by hydrazine hydrate.Organogelators Z1-2 both have gelation behavior in alcohol solution and DMSO.Gel-tert-butanol Z1-2(CGC=1.84%,1.41%)fluoresce blue and yellow-green under ultraviolet irradiation,respectively.Z1-2 both exhibit selectivity for response to Fe3+in THF-deionized water(V:V=9:1)solution,meanwhile display high sensitivity.Notably,introducing diethylamino at 7 sites of the coumarin unit increases the detection line range.Furthermore,Z2 not only has a good biocompatibility in BHK-21 living cells but also the sensing behavior of Fe3+in the cell nucleus.(4)A novel bishydroxycoumarin-chalcone gel factor W was designed and synthesized.Organogelator W has reversible gelation behavior in ethanol,tert-butanol and isopropanol solutions.The driving forces of gelation expressedπ-πstacking,hydrogen bonding,and Van der Waals forces by ultraviolet absorption spectra,infrared spectra and XRD,respectively.The effect of solvent on gelation behavior was analyzed in the Teas diagram.The molecular structure has two hydroxyl groups,so the gel factor W specifically recognizes Al3+in THF-deionized water(V:V=9:1)solution.Organogelator W showed hypotoxicity in BHK-21 and Hela living cells,indicating that gel material W has certain application potential in biomedicine.
