BaTi2O5 glass has always been an important one in the series of oxide glasses without network formers,the unusual and characteristic features have attracted much interest.From the perspective of glass formation theory and glass structure research,BaTi2O5 glass is a good theoretical research model.From the perspective of functional material development,BaTi2O5 glass is a promising multi-functional material,which has excellent optical properties,and the excellent ferroelectricity property comparable to Pb Ti O3 when single crystals annealed from glass.However,the glass-forming ability of BaTi2O5 is poor,and conventional glass melting technology cannot prepare large-scale glass samples,which limits its application out of the laboratory and for large-scale applications.In addition,the theoretical research on the oxide glass systems without network formers still needs to be deepened.The glass formation mechanism of the non-network-former oxide system is unknown,and the mechanism of doping elements to control the structure and properties of the system still needs to be further studied.The aerodynamic levitation processing can provide ultra-high melting temperature and ultra-fast cooling speed.During processing,the sample is always in suspension,which isolates the contact between the melt and the container wall,effectively inhibits heterogeneous nucleation,the vitrification of BaTi2O5 can be easily solved by aerodynamic levitation furnace.The Ba1-xCaxTi2O5,Ba1-xLaxTi2O5+z,Ba(Ti1-xNbx)2O5+z and Ba(Ti1-xZrx)2O5+z glasses were prepared by aerodynamic levitation processing furnace.The glass forming regions,density,molar volume,glass transition temperature,crystallization temperature,thermal stability,transmittance in the UV-Vis-NIR region and the microstructure were measured and investigated.The A/B site doping effect on these properties and parameters was also investigated.The relationship of structure rearrangement and properties regulation was tried to be revealed.
