Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid increase of population and the development of industrialization,a large amount of sewage and wastewater are discharged, which not only seriously wastes the only water resources on the earth, but also causes serious harm to human life safety. Therefore, the purification of sewage and wastewater is an issue which related to people’s livelihood.Compared with traditional water treatment methods, membrane separation technology has many advantages in terms of energy saving, environmental protection and strong adaptability in the treatment of sewage and wastewater. However,in practical applications, there are indeed many problems:the permeation flux and mechanical properties are weak, the membrane is easily fouled, and there is the trade off effect between the permeation flux and the rejection rate. Therefore, this paper chooses poly(aryl ether ketone)with carboxyl groups polymer as the matrix material of ultrafiltration membrane. The carboxyl-containing poly(aryl ether ketone)with carboxyl groups ultrafiltration membrane was modified by different modification methods.Firstly, from the perspective of molecular design, the composition ratio of 4-carboxyphenyl hydroquinone(4C-PH)and bisphenol A(BPA)was adjusted to synthesize a series of carboxylic poly(aryl ether ketone)polymers(C-PAEK)with different carboxylic content through nucleophilic polycondensation reaction. And using them as the membrane matrix material,PVP as the pore-forming agent,a series of C-PAEK ultrafiltration membranes were prepared by the NIPS method.Subsequently, the prepared C-PAEK ultrafiltration membranes with different carboxyl content were characterized and tested. The results showed that with the carboxyl group content increased, the water contact angle declined from 72.4°to 57.3°.The top surface of the membrane changes from dense to loose and porous, but the tensile strength remains above 2026 KPa.When the carboxyl content is10%,it shows the best permeability. The pure water flux is 511.5 Lm-2h-1,and the rejection rate of bovine serum albumin(BSA)is 96.4%.In order to further improve the performance of ultrafiltration membranes.Graphene oxide(GO)was selected as a hydrophilic filler and blended with C-PAEK to prepare a series of C-PAEK/GO mixed matrix ultrafiltration membranes with different GO contents. And a series of C-PAEK/GO mixed matrix ultrafiltration membranes with different GO content were characterized and tested. The results show that as the content of GO increases, its hydrophilicity further increases. The flux of M4 pure water is as high as 803 Lm-2h-1.When the amount of GO is 0.08 wt%,the rejection rate is 94.4%,and the flux is 545.3 Lm-2h-1.The anti-fouling performance of the mixed matrix ultrafiltration membrane has also been enhanced.Additionally, the flux recovery rate has increased from 69.8%to 84.7%.Furthermore,the mechanical properties of the C-PAEK/GO hybrid matrix ultrafiltration membrane have been improved, and it owns a maximum tensile strength of 3248 KPa.
