Innovative Design Of Maternity Clothes Under Healing Philosophy

Under the influence of loosening the national family planning policy,the number of puerpera in China increases greatly.As a special group,puerpera bear the burden of giving new life.Since waiting for delivery in the hospital,puerpera have been in an ambivalent state of expectation and fear.At this point,they are fragile both physically and mentally,so they need more concern and care.Worn by all puerpera in the delivery center,maternity clothes are a kind of personal item which accompanies puerpera for the longest time.Being convenient,comfort,private and aesthetic directly influences puerpera’s mental state.According to the survey,conventional maternity clothes in the hospital need to be improved on aesthetics,functionality and privacy.During examination and treatment,puerpera have no privacy and their mentality is also ignored.This thesis analyzes popular healing-related researches,takes psychology,fashion design,obstetrics and gynecology and so on as the theoretic basis,conducts research by starting from clothes’ colors,materials and construction,combines the psychological benefit of the healing philosophy,and then concludes the healing properties of healing maternity clothes.By practicing design of maternity clothes,conducting the field research and questionnaire survey,and combing the theoretical system of designing healing maternity clothes with the research result,this thesis puts forward an exploratory way of designing healing maternity clothes.These healing clothes are designed to give puerpera psychological guidance,change their self-positioning of patients,functionally meet their daily needs of treatment,examination and nursing,and meet their psychological needs of privacy protection and self-image maintenance.And these clothes are expected to solve deficiencies of conventional maternity clothes,including outdated colors and styles,uncomfortable materials,inconvenience of taking-on and taking-off which causes wound paining,and over-exposure of private part during examination and nursing which brings puerpera negative emotions of embarrassment and anxiety.These healing clothes make puerpera feel comfortable and cozy,facilitate puerpera to recover physically and mentally,and play a role of early intervention in development of postnatal depression.
