Among noble metal materials,platinum(Pt)has been widely used mainly because of its extraordinary performance in energy conversion and environment protection.However,owing to its limited storage and elevated prices,its low efficiency greatly hinders its commercialization.So,developing highly active catalyst with decreased amount of Pt used is highly important for commercialization in fields like energy conversion.For the present,many solutions targeting to deal with the problem has been proposed: decreasing nanoparticle size,alloying Pt with other metals,de-alloy Pt,etc.In this thesis,under potential deposition technique was applied,platinum of monolayer or sub-monolayer was decorated on polycrystal gold.Through three electrode system,influence of coverage on electro catalyst performance was analyzed in ammonia.For the other part of the study,different morphology of gold was obtained via electro deposition.Methanol,ethanol and ammonia were tested to systematically evaluate the effect of morphology on electro catalyst performances.Different kinds of morphology were successfully obtained,and results show that,in the core-shell system,the coverage of platinum as well as the morphology of base material all play great influence on Pt-based catalyst activity,as well as stability.This thesis provide great significance on influence affecting Pt-based catalyst performance,and provide an accessible approach to minimize the use of platinum,to increase the performance of platinum,and make platinum usage commercialization.
