Rotating packed bed(RPB)is a novel gas-liquid contacting equipment,which using centrifugal force to greatly intensify mass transfer between two-phase and micro mixing process.Liquid distributor is an important component of RPB,which can make the liquid well distributed to the inner ed ge of the rotor.The experimental object is a novel coil pipe type liquid distributor with the diameter of 272 mm and composed of several Circumferentially arranged main pipes and axially arranged coil pipes.The liquid evenly sprayed from the small holes on the outer edge of the coil pipes by centrifugal force.Flooding flow rate with different rotating speed was measured experimentally using water system in this paper,and the flow coefficient of liquid distributing holes was obtained.The hydrodynamic model in the distributor’s main pipes was established.The flow rate distribution of liquid distributing holes and distribution coefficient at different inlet liquid flow rate and rotating speed were measured.The experimental results showed that:(1)The flooding flow rate of distributor increased with the increase in rotating speed,and it increased from 1.25 m~3/h to 2.5 m~3/h while the rotating speed increased from 600rpm to1200 rpm.The distribution coefficient of liquid distributing holes was about 0.54.(2)According to the hydrodynamic model,the pressure drop in the main pipe of distributor increased with the increase in inlet liquid flow rate after distributor’s main pipes were filled with liquid.The pressure drop increased from 6682 Pa to 16250 Pa while inlet liquid flow rate increased from 1200 L/h to 2800 L/h at the rotating speed of800 rpm,and it increased from 22639 Pa to 40626 Pa while the inlet flow rate increased from 1600 L/h to 3000 L/h at the rotating speed of 1000 rpm.(3)The flow rate of liquid distributing holes increased with the increase in inlet liquid flow rate.The larger inlet liquid flow rate was,the more uniform the flow distribution of liquid distributing holes was,and the smaller distribution coefficient was.The flow of liquid distributing holes was uniform when the main pipes were filled with liquid,and the distribution coefficient remained the same with the increase in inlet liquid flow rate.(4)The overall flow rate of liquid distributing holes remained the same with the increase in rotating speed.At small inlet liquid flow rate,the faster rotating speed was,the more nonuniform the flow distribution of liquid distributing holes was,and the bigger distribution coefficient was.The distribution coefficient remained the same with the increase in rotating speed after the main pipes were filled with liquid.(5)Liquid distributing holes was blocked by dirt,and it had negative effect on the performance of distributor and made the flow rate distribution of liquid distributing holes worse.The gas vent on the top of distributor had no effect on the flow rate distribution of liquid distributing holes.
