The function of pesticide in modern agricultural technology is becoming more and more important. The fungicide of Strobilurins has broad spectrum antibacterial, weak biological and ecological toxicity, and has a good effect on preventing and t-reating diseases, good effect for prevention disease and has a significant effect on increasing yield, and is safe for users, crops and environment.Picoxystrobin is a Strobilurins fungicide of great potential. With further study on the synthesis and a-pplication of technology,Picoxystrobin has a more broad application prospects in a gricultural production of our country. This dissertation is focused on process resear-ch synthesis of Picoxystrobin. In the present paper, synthetic methods of Picoxystrobin were reviewed in det-ail.With the disadvantages and advantages on the synthetic routes, design of a ne-w synthetic process for industrial production.(E)-Methyl-2-(methoxymethylene)-2-m-ethylbenzeneacetate was synthesized via esterification, ester condensation,methylati-on,chloration from o-Tolylacetic acid.Another intermediate 2-Hydroxy-6-trifluorome-thylpyridineenoate was synthesized via hydrolization from 2-Fluoro-6-trifluoromethyl-pyridineenoate.The Picoxystrobin was synthesized via etherification reaction from the above two intermediates.Under the optimal condition, the total yield was 44.2%based on o-Tolylacetic acid.and the purity was 98.26%.Meanwhile the proble-ms in each of the reaction and side reactions were studied and discussed. The syn-thetic process has some advantages of high yield, simple operation and high purity, and is suitable for industrial production. The chemical structures of Picoxystrobin a nd intermediates had been characterized by ~1H-NMR.
