Active factors refer to compounds with certain functions(such as antibacterial,antioxidant),which are widely used in food,medicine and other fields.However,active factors,especially natural active factors,have low stability during processing and storage,high sensitivity to light and heat,and low solubility in water,which greatly reduces the expected effect,thus limiting their applications.Encapsulation of active factors may be a suitable solution to increase stability and improve availability.Electrospinning is considered as a prospective method for encapsulating active factors and it presents a number of advantages in comparison with other encapsulation technologies.For instance,it is carried out at ambient temperature and does not involve high temperature and pressure conditions,which is extremely advantageous for the encapsulation of the sensitivity active factors;High encapsulation efficiency,normally reaching about 90%.And encapsulation can improve the stability(e.g.,light stability,thermal stability)of active factors;Electrospun nanofibrous films have a large specific surface area and high porosity,and the nano-size effect helps to achieve high surface activity and it also provides the possibility for fast release of active factors;Electrospun nanofiber encapsulation carrier can be customized based on specific needs.For instance,for fast release and fast dissolution in water,the cyclodextrin,with great water solubility,can be opted as the fiber matrix.Based on this,we constructed several carriers of active factors via electrospinning,and further explored their applications.1.Electrospun allicin antibacterial nanofibrous films for developing novel active food packaging materials.The problem that the PVP fibrous films are easily soluble in water and unsuitable for food packaging with high water content is solved by blended electrospinning.Compared with traditional cross-linking methods(glutaraldehyde cross-linking,genipin cross-linking),this method is safer,simpler and more economical.A novel food packaging material PB64-A nanofibrous films loaded with allicin was developed for the first time,which has superior antibacterial activity,water adsorption and water stability,hydrophobicity,light barrier capability,and the nano-size effect also contributes to high surface activity.The nanofibrous films extend the shelf life of chicken breasts up to 5 days at room temperature.2.Electrospun gallic acid fast dissolving nanofibrous films for constructing oral delivery carriers.We achieved electrospinning only using the highly water-soluble 2-hydroxypropyl-?-cyclodextrin(2-HP-?-CD)as a carrier matrix(no additional polymer matrix was used)and water as the solvent.The excellent water solubility of 2-HP-?-CD,the large specific surface area and high porosity of electrospun nanofibrous films,and the formation of gallic acid-cyclodextrin inclusion complexes transformed gallic acid from crystalline to amorphous,and the superposition of various factors greatly improved the effect of gallic acid fast dissolution and solubilization,and significantly improved the antioxidant capacity of gallic acid.3.Electrospun pesticide(herbicide)fast dissolving nanofibrous films for preparing green nanopesticide formulations.To further broaden the applications of electrospun 2-HP-?-CD fast dissolving fibrous films,three hydrophobic pesticides such as Diuron were loaded into the fast dissolving nanofibrous films.It strives to take advantage of the structural characteristics of electrospun nanofibers as well as the advantages of the inclusion complexes to avoid the use of organic solvents,enhance the water solubility and stability of insoluble herbicide pesticide molecules,improve the bioavailability of herbicides,and provide favorable conditions for the development of water-based green nano-pesticide formulations.
