Polybutylene succinate(PBS)is a fully biodegradable material,which facing the problems of low production capacity and high application cost.How to reduce its cost is a hot issues of biodegradable materials.In this paper,PBSMF(bio crushed straw/PBS),(PBSMF/white hemp fiber)PBSMF/HF,(PBSMF/sisal fiber)PBSMF/SF,(PBSMF/Raffia fiber)PBSMF/RF were prepared by melt blending and injection molding,which used PBS as the matrix material,bio crushed straw(MF)as the filling material and plant fiber as reinforcing material.The mechanical properties,thermal properties,degradation properties and some practical properties of the four composites were systematically studied.The results are as follows:(1)When the mass ratio of PBS: MF: Plant fiber was 80:20:3,the surface hardness,impact strength,tensile strength and bending strength of the composite were increased by 20%,16.7%,3.2% and 5.5% respectively compared with pure PBS.(2)When the addition of MF was 20%,the melting enthalpy and crystallinity of PBSMF composites decreased by 28.46% and 2.54% respectively compared with pure PBS;The enthalpy of crystallization increased by 22.01% compared with pure PBS;The thermal expansion performance was lower than that of pure PBS.(3)When the content of MF was 20%,the degradation weight loss rate of PBSMF composites in indoor for 30 days was 10.2% higher than pure PBS;Plant fiber had little effect on the degradation properties of composites.(4)PBSMF and fiber/PBSMF composites had certain resistance to high and low temperature environment.(5)The processability of fiber/PBSMF composites was equivalent to pure PBS,and the processing conditions change little.The results show that,adding bio crushed straw can not only improve the performance of PBS composites without adding other chemical components,but also reduce the cost of PBS,alleviate the problem of insufficient capacity of PBS,and provide a new way for the resource utilization of straw.That is,it was feasible to modify PBS with bio crushed straw and plant fiber.
