Traditional organic fluorescent materials are mostly planar conjugated materials, which can be affected by aggregation induced quenching(ACQ)due to the influence of intermolecular interaction, resulting in limited application. The aggregation-induced emission(AIE)materials have excellent luminescence properties in the aggregated state, which can effectively solve the ACQ problem of traditional fluorescent materials.Since the phenomenon has been discovered for about 20 years,AIE active materials have played crucial roles in many aspects including chemical/biological imaging, trace detection of sensors, organic light-emitting diodes, circularly polarized luminescence/hydrogel systems and so on,which provides the basis for the preparation of novel AIE active fluorescent probes. In this paper,we designed and prepared novel AIE active materials, and studied their optical properties and applications.1.In this part,we synthesized a series of novel AIE active materials based on benzophenone and nitrogen-containing heterocycle moieties. The results indicated that these compounds had typical AIE activity, and their optical properties were closely affected by the nitrogen-containing heterocycles.Next, cyano was introduced into these AIE fluorophores to prolong the emission wavelength, which provided the more possibility for their applications.2.On the basis of the classical AIE active tetraphenylethylene(TPE),we designed and synthesized a novel tetraphenylethylene-pridine AIE active fluorescent probe. In this work,a new AIE fluorescent probe was synthesized with TPE as AIE active fluorophore, and N,N-dimethylamino and pyridine moieties as donor and acceptor, respectively. The ?-galactosidase(?-gal)was introduced through glycosidic bond to prepare the fluorescent probe TPE-PyBz-?-gaI.However,the results show that the fluorescent probe showed poor reactivity to identify ?-gal.3.We designed and synthesized a novel AIE active fluorescent probe TPh-PyBz-?-gal based on the intramolecular charge transfer(ICT)effect. The glycosidic bond well known as recognition site for ?-gal was used to connect AIE fluorophore and D-galactose residue to prepare the fluorescent probe. After interacted with ?-gal,the glycosidic bond broke to release the AIE fluorophore, and turn-on orange fluorescence was detected. The results indicated that the probe have selective and sensitive recognition ability for ?-gal with detection limit reaching to 0.22 U/mL.MTT assay showed that the probe had good biocompatibility and low toxicity, and could be successfully applied to cell imaging.
