With the rapid development of electronic information industry,the market demand for connectors is increasing day by day.The structure and function of metal terminal in connector is becoming more and more complicated and diversified,and the requirements for the assembly precision of connector sheath and terminal are becoming more and more strict.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the molding process and mold design of connector to improve product quality.In this paper,automobile connector with metal line terminal was taken as the research object to carry out the research on the overlapping injection molding process of plastic package.The main research contents include:(1)Based on the overlapping injection molding process to reduce the position offset of metal line terminal,the structure of the plastic overmolded transition part of automobile connector was designed and optimized by the co-simulation method of Moldflow and ANSYS Workbench.Firstly,aiming at the time-consuming problem of metal line terminal installation,the structure was improved.Secondly,the one-time injection molding of automobile connector was simulated,and the basic scheme of the plastic overmolded transition part of automobile connector was designed based on the simulation result.Then,in view of the plastic overmolded transition part problems existing in the basic scheme,the structure of the transition part was optimized and the feeding system was designed.The simulation result show that the optimized transition part can effectively control the displacement of metal line terminal within the tolerance range.(2)Based on two cooling schemes,with the help of Moldflow and ABAQUS co-simulation method,the influence of connector temperature on the position offset of metal line plug after demoulding was studied.The simulation result show that when the temperature distribution of the connector was uniform during demoulding,the connector sheath would not produce warpage deformation,and the position offset of the metal line plug was small.The orthogonal test and grey correlation analysis were used to optimize the injection molding process parameters,and the orthogonal test was carried out with five important factors: injection time,melt temperature,mold temperature,holding pressure and holding time.The results show that the best combination of process parameters for both warpage and volume shrinkage of automobile connector were as follows: injection time 2.7s,melt temperature 300?,mould temperature 110?,holding pressure 30 MPa,holding time 2s.BP neural network was used to establish the function model between the injection process parameters and volume shrinkage and warpage deformation,and verify the accuracy of prediction.(3)Based on the final optimized structural model of automobile connector,the structural design of overlapping injection molding technology of plastic package injection mold was completed by using the UG modeling software.Combined with the optimized process parameters,the actual production was carried out.The experimental results verified that the position deviation of metal line terminal could be controlled within the tolerance range by using the optimized plastic package molding transition part molding scheme.The warpage problem of automobile connector was effectively solved by using the process parameters optimized by orthogonal test,and the product quality meet the requirements.
