Research On The Optimization Of Horizontal Wellbore Trajectory Of Dibeilla Block In Niger

Africa has always been a key area of China's overseas oil and gas strategy,and the Niger project is one of China's important exploration and development cooperation projects in West Africa.According to the deployment of the engineering plan,horizontal well design is now required in the Dibeilla N-1 block in Niger.Since Niger has not drilled horizontal wells before,there is no relevant level of data to learn from,which increases the difficulty of drilling design,and the geographical and engineering conditions of Niger are relatively harsh.Therefore,in order to ensure the cost control and risk problems during drilling,this paper intends to establish a wellbore trajectory optimization model to complete the optimization design of the wellbore trajectory.First of all,according to the drilling data of Dibeilla N-1 block,this paper analyzes the geological factors and engineering factors of the block.Secondly,based on the two-dimensional and three-dimensional well trajectory basic model,the optimization design model of horizontal well trajectory is derived,which takes the depth,slope and inclination of the well trajectory as the constraints and the shortest well trajectory length as the optimization objective.Finally,the conventional horizontal well trajectory design is carried out for dibeilla n-1 block to be drilled,and the fmincon function in MATLAB software is used to solve the optimization model.The calculation results after optimization are compared with the conventional horizontal well trajectory design results,and the shorter well depth and smaller trajectory parameters are obtained after comparison.Thus,the rationality and feasibility of the optimization model are verified,which provides certain technical support for horizontal well drilling in this area.
