In this study,a series of kaolinite intercalation composites were prepared by displacement intercalation method using kaolinite from coal measures in Inner Mongolia.The intercalation composites were characterized by XRD、FT-IR、TG-DTG、SEM and TEM,and the optimal intercalation process was determined.The effects of the type of modifier,the amount of modifier and the number of kaolinite filler on the processing property,mechanical and mechanical properties,thermal and gas barrier properties of the composite were studied.The reinforcing mechanism and barrier mechanism of kaolinite filler were also discussed.(1)Dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO),methanol(MeOH)and stearic acid(SA)were selected as intercalators to prepare a series of coal measures kaolinite intercalation composites.The following conclusions were drawn:when DMSO was used as intercalation agent,kaolinite/DMSO pre-intercalation composites were successfully prepared,and the optimal intercalation conditions were determined as follows:The reaction temperature is 100℃,the reaction time is 3h,the proportion of water in the solution is 10%,the highest intercalation rate is 71.2%;In order to improve the intercalation efficiency,inorganic acids and organic acids were introduced,among which H2SO4 and HCl had better effects.When anhydrous aluminum chloride is added in the MeOH intercalation process,the intercalation time is shortened from 336h to 12h,the intercalation rate is increased from 9.2%to 41.8%,and the effect is remarkable.Finally,kaolinite/SA long chain intercalation composites were successfully prepared using kaolinite/MeOH as guest intercalation composites.As the intercalating process progresses,kaolinite crystallinity index(HI)decreases,the crystal structure has been gradually destroyed,crystal defect was gradually increased,corresponding to appear on the infrared spectrogram characteristic absorption peak,kaolinite dehydroxylation temperature gradually reduce,at the same time,after intercalated kaolinite stack type block ratio decreases,scattered pieces of stratified proportional increase,and the edge angular passivation layer.(2)Coal-measure intercalated kaolinite/SBR composites were prepared by melt blending method,and the effects of modifier type,modifier dosage and filler fraction on the processing properties and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated.The results show that after the surface modification of kaolinite,the curing time(t90)of the rubber composite is shortened,the processing efficiency is improved,and the static mechanical properties are effectively improved,among which Si-69 has the best modification effect.With the increase of the amount of modifier,the tensile and tear strength of the composites increased first and then decreased.When the amount of modifier was 3%,the mechanical strength was the highest and the modification effect was the best.The tensile strength,tear strength,hardness and 100%and 300%elongation stress of the composites all increase with the increase of kaolinite filling fraction.When the kaolinite filling fraction is 50phr,the static mechanical properties of the composites are the best.(3)The effects of modifier type,modifier dosage and kaolinite filling fraction on the thermal and gas barrier properties of the composites were investigated.The results show that the type of modifier has little effect on the thermal stability of the composites.The amount of modifier has a certain effect on the thermal stability of the composites.When the amount of modifier is 3%,the thermal stability of the composites is the best.With the increase of kaolinite filling fraction,the thermal stability of the composite is gradually enhanced.When the filling fraction is 50phr,the thermal stability of the composite is the best.In terms of gas barrier property,when the modifier is KH-560,the gas barrier property of the composite is improved by 19%,and the modification effect is the best.With the increase of the amount of modifier,the gas barrier performance of the composites increased first and then decreased.When the amount of modifier was 3%,the gas barrier performance of the composites was the best.With the increase of the number of kaolinite filling,the gas barrier property of the composite is gradually enhanced.When the number of kaolinite filling is 50phr,the gas barrier property of the composite is improved by 37%,and the reinforcing effect is the best.
