Traditional polyurethane often contains a large amount of volatile organic solvents,and some even contain free isocyanate monomers harmful to human body.In order to reduce the pollution to the environment and better protect people’s health,the research on environment-friendly waterborne polyurethane(WPU)has received extensive attention.However,some properties of WPU still have some gaps compared with traditional polyurethane coatings,so we need to modify WPU to increase its application range.The degradability and regeneration of vegetable oil make vegetable oil have important economic value instead of petroleum..In this paper,soybean oil and palm oil were used as raw materials to prepare environmentally friendly WPU.The following three contents were mainly discussed:Part I:Epoxy soybean oil(ESO)and epoxy palm oil(EPO)were prepared by peroxyformic acid method.Soybean oil-based polyol(MESO)was prepared by methanol ring-opening ESO.Palm oil-based polyol(POP)was prepared by lactic acid ring-opening EPO.Using MESO and POP as macromolecular polyols.Soybean oil and palm oil block waterborne polyurethane were prepared by method of fractional steps.The reactants and products were characterized by infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance respectively.A series of WPU were prepared by changing DMPA content,POP content and R value by single variable method.The effects of DMPA content,POP content and R value on the properties of WPU emulsion and film were investigated by means of particle size,viscosity,storage stability,adhesion,scratch resistance,impact resistance,pencil hardness,film flexibility,water absorption,static contact angle,stress-strain,and thermogravimetric analysis(TG/DTG).Part II:FRC-6 is used to partially or completely replace BDO.A series of flame retardant waterborne polyurethanes with soybean oil and palm oil blocks were prepared by single variable method.The product was characterized by IR.The effects of FRC-6 content on the properties of FWPU and FWPU films were investigated by means of particle size,viscosity,storage stability,adhesion,scratch resistance,impact resistance,pencil hardness,film flexibility,water absorption,static contact angle,stress-strain,field emission scanning electron microscope(SEM),limiting oxygen index(LOI),vertical combustion test(UL-94)and TG/DTG.Part III:Phosphorus-containing flame retardant polyol DESO was prepared by using 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphophenanthrene-10-oxide(DOPO)ring-opening ESO.DESO and FRC-6 are combine,A series of flame retardant waterborne polyurethane were prepared by changing the ratio of DESO to FRC-6,The reactants and products were characterized by IR and ~1H-NMR,respectively.The effects of the ratio of flame retardant DESO to FRC-6 on the properties of WPU and its films were investigated by means of particle size,viscosity,storage stability,adhesion,scratch resistance,impact resistance,pencil hardness,film flexibility,water absorption,static contact angle,SEM,LOI,UL-94,and TG/DTG tests.
