Landscape painting is a category of painting that emerged at a late stage in the development of ukiyo-e printmaking, combining oriental painting techniques with western ideas of perspective, and using a unique flat decorative method to show the natural beauty and livelihoods of the Japanese Edo period. And it set off a wave of Japonism in Europe in the 19 th century.Ukiyo-e was also used as an artistic style to provide inspiration for commercial illustration, posters and posters, and product design.Enamelling is a long-established metal craft and a valuable intangible cultural heritage of China, with its magnificent colours and elaborate decoration, giving a visual impression of opulence and richness. However,in the modern social environment, the traditional enamelling process also has to be inherited while being compatible, innovative and constantly drawing on excellent artistic inspiration to achieve breakthroughs in design creation as well as craftsmanship. The paper firstly compares the development of ukiyo-e landscape painting and analyses the main genres and artistic expressions of ukiyo-e landscape painting;secondly,it compares the similarities and differences between ukiyo-e and enamelling, and analyses its design methods in terms of abstraction of figures, use of lines, juxtaposition of colours and asymmetrical composition based on the principles of ukiyo-e landscape painting's decorative nature. Finally, the results of this study guide the practice of creating enamelled works. The innovation of this study lies in the application of the Ukiyo-e art style to enamel creation, which is of some relevance to the reinvention of the traditional arts and crafts industry and provides a set of effective practical methods to promote the path of integration and development of traditional crafts and excellent art in China.
