With the continuous development of the concept of sustainable design, environmentally friendly materials—the carrier of sustainable design—have become popular and show a rising trend as its important expression methods and formal languages. The development and application innovation of environmental protection materials has gradually become the mainstream trend of environmental protection design. In the design of bag, more and more new environmentally friendly materials, such as Tyvek Paper,Wineleather,Malai,Pi(?)atex and other new plant leather made of plant fibers, have been developed to replacenon-environmental-friendly chemical materials. These environmental protection materials can not only reduce the consumption of energy and resources, but also solve the environmental problems after the product is discarded. It is an urgent task for designers that to explore the design of new environmentally friendly materials on bag and combine the unique environmental protection properties of materials with the fashionable properties of bag.In this paper, first of all,the development history of bag materials is sorted out,the characteristics of bag materials, the main cases of plant leather and the characteristics of material at present are systematically summarized. Then, based on the study of the characteristics of Pi(?)atex materials and the cases of design and application, the feasibility of Pi(?)atex in bags design was analyzed and tested. Finally, using kansei engineering methods, the product style of Pi(?)atex material and its corresponding bag design elements were analyzed and obtained, and applied in design practice to provide a reference for the design and application of Pi(?)atex in bags.
