Gear slicing is a new technology for machining gears with high precision and high efficiency.It has great advantage in the processing of non-through spiral internal gear part.At present,the theoretical research on the design of slice cutter is relatively advanced,now we have designed many types of slice cutter,such as involute slice cutter with the same front angle,involute slice cutter with chamfering function,slice cutter for special shaped gear and internal arc slice cutter.With the gradual maturity of gear slicing,the demand for the slice cutter has gradually increased.However,the precious grinding process cannot meet the actual needs,in order to promote the mass production of slice cutter as soon as possible,this paper has carried out in-depth research on the grinding process of slice cutter.Firstly,this paper analyzes the structure of the slice cutter,grinding accuracy requirements and grinding programming method.Base on above research,take the involute slice cutter with the same front angle as an example,this paper deeply study on the grinding programming method for the front face and flank face of slice cutter.Secondly,to solve the problem of using single bevel grinding wheel,this paper proposes to use arc grinding wheel,and arc grinding wheel can greatly improves the service life.Using the vector linear interpolation for control the tool axis vector of arc grinding wheel,we have implemented finished the grinding of the whole flank face using only one program.And this paper optimized grinding accuracy detection and grinding parameters,those optimizations can improve grinding accuracy and efficiency.Finally,as a general technical method,this paper deeply studies the post-processing problem of 5-axis tool grinding machine,derived the solution for the post-processing motion of different types of 5-axis tool grinders and based on Post Builder which is UG NX’s own post-processing tool,this paper detailed analysis the setup process of the post-processing file,and compensation for spindle position error of 5-axis tool grinding machine with rotary head and table,after numerical verification and Vericut software simulation processing,the goal of grinding the slice cutter in different types of 5-axis tool grinding machines was realized.The application of the research results in this paper not only greatly improves the grinding efficiency and grinding precision of slice cutter,and it also makes engineering application for slice cutter with same front angle.Cutting experiment on the slice machine using the slice cutter,and the accuracy of the gear is GB/T 7,tooth profile tolerances achieve to GB/T 4.From the aspect of slice cutter application,it proves the correctness of the grinding process studied in this paper.
