| Electrodeposition,as a common metal surface treatment technology, uses the principle of electrolysis to deposit a layer of other metal or alloy films on the surface of some metals.Deposition layer is firmly bond to the substrate and the thickness of the deposition layer is relatively uniform. As a severe plastic deformation technology, accumulative roll bonding(ARB)technology can refine the structure of composite material, and the mechanical properties are greatly improved. It has become a research hotspot in the field of preparing metal matrix composite materials, especially aluminum matrix composite materials. This article combines electrodeposition and ARB technology.Electroplating Copper on the surface of 1060 aluminum plate for 0 minutes,8 minutes and 60 minutes respectively by electrodeposition technology.Subsequently, the electrodeposited aluminum plates are stacked and by ARB to prepare Al/Cu composite plates with excellent performance.Composite plates are treated with the same solution treatment process and mainly studied the influence of factors such as deposition time, copper layer size and morphology, interface bonding quality, phase composition, and heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of composite materials. In addition, mechanical properties of the composite plate of different cycles are tested through tensile test at room temperature and high temperature, and hardness experiments.Combine optical microscope, scanning electron microscope,X-ray diffraction analyzer to analyze and study the structure, interface bonding, and fracture mechanism of the composite board.Stacking the aluminum plates with electrodeposition time of 0 minutes,8 minutes, and 60 minutes respectively and Al/Cu composite plates with better interface bonding quality were successfully prepared by ARB process. With the increase of ARB cycles, thickness of the copper layer gradually decreases, necking and breaking appear, and finally form small particles. The thickness of the interface diffusion layer of every cycle does not change significantly. The fracture mechanism of the composite plate is a typical ductile fracture.Compared with the ARB composite plate of aluminum plate at 0 minutes of electrodeposition, the overall mechanical properties of the composite plate obtained by ARB of electrodeposited after 8 minutes and 60 minutes are more outstanding. The samples, which prepared by ARB process after electrodeposition, are solution treated. The strength and plasticity of the composite plate obtained by ARB of the aluminum plate for 60 minutes of electrodeposition are significantly better than the composite plate obtained by ARB of the aluminum plate for 8 minutes of electrodeposition. The solution treatment enhances the diffusion of atoms on the bonding surface and improves the bonding strength of the interface. At the same time, during the solution treatment process,AlCu,Al4Cu9,AlCu3 and Al2Cu phases are produced. The sample of 4 cycles, which prepared by ARB process after electrodeposition and treated with solution treatment, are studied the high temperature mechanical properties at 120℃,200℃,250℃,and 300℃.The fracture mode of the composite plate is a typical ductile fracture, and the joint state of the fracture interface is good. When the tensile temperature is higher than 200℃,the grains grow significantly in the rolling direction, and a small amount of recrystallized grains appear at the grain boundaries and bonding interfaces. When the tensile temperature is 120℃,the strength and elongation of the composite plate are improved. The tensile strength and yield strength are 225.1MPa and 110MPa,respectively,and the elongation is 21.1%.With the temsile temperature increase, the strength of the composite plate gradually reduces, and the elongation reaches a maximum of 26.0%at 200℃. |
