Protective slag in the mold,has a very important role,it can prevent liquid steel oxygenation,has the upper surface heat preservation function,and lubrication effect,affect the heat transfer rate of liquid steel to the mold wall,and can melt the inclusion in the protective slag,has a greater impact on the quality of billet.The thickness of protective slag is an important parameter for metallurgical workers.At present,the main measurement methods are still focused on the contact measurement,but there is no effective non-contact measurement scheme.Based on this,according to the characteristics of radar signal,a radar thickness measurement system based on linear frequency modulated continuous millimeter wave signal is presented in this paper to realize the measurement of the thickness of solid layer of protective slag.This paper introduces the working principle of continuous millimeter wave ranging based on linear frequency modulation,and gives the implementation scheme of radar thickness measuring system based on the working principle,including the installation position of radar actual detection,the parameters of linear frequency modulation signal,the parameter configuration of each module of radar thickness measuring system and feasibility analysis.The radar antenna is simulated,and a series feed microstrip antenna is designed.The simulation results are given and the results are analyzed.The hardware design and software implementation of the high frequency signal emission controller based on Cortex-R4 series processor are given.This paper discusses the factors that affect the accuracy of millimeter-wave ranging.Based on the analysis of fast Fourier transform and Chirp-Z transform(CZT)algorithm,the two algorithms are simulated and compared,and the software realization of IF signal A/D sampling,CZT algorithm and data post-processing and upper computer communication are given.Finally,the cold experiment results of the radar thickness measuring system are given.The experimental results show that the thickness of the protective slag near 0.5m from the radar antenna is detected.The experimental detection accuracy reaches millimeter level,and the thickness measurement error of the system is 0.006 m.When the thickness of the protective slag exceeds 0.090 m,the radar thickness measurement system cannot capture the echo signal of the lower surface. |
