Hydroxyapatite(HA or HAP)is a well-recognized bone tissue repair material because its excellent biocompatibility and biological activity.Electroactive ceramic barium titanate(BaTiO3)has good piezoelectricity and mechanical properties.BaTiO3/HA composites not only have piezoelectric effect to promote the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts, but also have biological activity and bone binding capacity, which meet the biological requirements of bone tissue engineering. At present, research reports about BaTiO3/HA composites in the world mainly focus on the mechanical mixing of BaTiO3 conventional powders and HA conventional powders. The composition of the obtained composites is not uniform and exist great defects. In this paper,BaTiO3/HA nanocomposite powders prepared by two kinds of hydrothermal methods,we observed its phase and microstructure, and studied the electrical, mechanical and biological properties of composite ceramic materials. The following conclusions are obtained:(1)The BaTiO3/HA composite prepared by the liquid-liquid mixed hydrothermal method, containing BaCO3 and Ca3(PO4)2 impurity phases, the product size was approximately 230nm,and the HA nanoparticles coasted BaTiO3 nanospheres;(2)The-BaTiO3/HA composite prepared by the solid-liquid mixed hydrothermal method. No impurity phases were formed. The product size was about 100 nm.The BaTiO3 particles in the composite product is spherical particles, while the HA is in itself irregular nanoparticles.Adhesion around the BaTiO3 nanospheres;(3)The piezoelectric coemcient d33(0.26 pC/N)of the composite ceramics obtained by the liquid-liquid mixed hydrothermal method;and the piezoelectric coefficient d33 of the BaTiO3/HA composite ceramics obtained by the solid-liquid mixed hydrothermal method is 0.58 pC/N,Very close to human bone piezoelectric coefficient d33 value 0.7pC/N;And the former compressive strength is 36.2MPa,and the latter compressive strength reaches 67.4MPa;...
