As early as the early 1970s,Jacques estersl,a senior French custom designer,registered "Unisex" in France in his personal name.The patent for the word,which he designed for men in 1965,includes plaid skirts,kilts,a corduroy salmon Nehru jacket and high waisted pants with zippers at the front and back.Twenty years later,Jean Paul Gautier paid homage to Esther and launched the Unisex Collection.Then Vivienne Westwood,Marc Jacobs,Alexander McQueen,Yohji Yamamoto,REI Kawakubo,Rick Owens,JW Anderson,Thom Browne and RAF Simon were followed Simon)and many other famous fashion designers have put forward the concept of "sexuality".Male models wear skirts,perspective suits or female style accessories,which lead to new clothing styles.Some male stars and fashion bloggers have spared no effort to practice them,such as David Bowie and David Beckham,Korean musician G-Dragon and Japanese singer Hyde.Compared with the enthusiasm of the fashion industry,from the indifference of the public in the past to the mixed evaluation today,it shows that the public' s awareness of "gender" is constantly refreshing.For thousands of years,masculinity has been regarded as the standard of masculinity,which is called"manhood".The change of men's clothing,socialization and social relations makes the new space promote the formation of"masculinity",and also gives men the pursuit of diversified beauty.This appeal is directly related to the change of men' s clothing-the gender design in men' s clothing is in line with this.In such an environment where there are both traditional cognition and the impact of new trends,the dispute and appeal on the topic of "no gender expression in men' s fashion design"has never stopped,and "gender" is the main controversial point.In the past,the understanding of "masculinity should be embodied in men' s clothing" made many people stop at some superficial topics,and few people made in-depth research and Analysis on this topic and phenomenon.The controversy and appeal of "no gender expression in men' s fashion design" is the cause of this study.In order to better analyze and understand this controversial topic,this paper mainly follows the longitudinal and horizontal thinking of "no gender expression in men's clothing design" phenomenon,to complete the analysis and discussion of this phenomenon,and try to carry out aesthetic research on this phenomenon and put forward some development strategies,hoping to arouse the attention of more professionals and researchers in the industry From the new version of men' s clothing drawings,this paper explores how gender free design can be used in men' s wear design,meet the emotional demands of specific consumers,achieve androgyny,"shared Wardrobe",and achieve the concept of clothing environmental protection.From the public,we can see the new neutral image,the new variety and the living style.The main research idea of this paper is "factual basis-phenomenon analysis—development trend".According to this idea,the fact that "there is no gender expression in men' s clothing design" recorded in the "fact basis" makes people think about the evolution process from the time when men and women wear the same dress together,to the emergence and popularity of the real gender ambiguity concept,and finally to the analysis of the evolution process of "gender free" for the development of clothing."Phenomenon analysis" starts from the different attitudes of individuals,fashion businesses and social media to this phenomenon.By using the research methods of literature collection,brand case analysis and market research,and combining with the contemporary social context,this paper completes the current reading of the "sexless"clothing of contemporary men."Development trend" starts from the analysis of contemporary social ideological context,discusses the formation of social gender and ideology,and leads to the diversification of aesthetic standards and value orientation from social changes,providing more possibilities for the development countermeasures of "no gender expression in men' s clothing design".Through the above research process,this paper puts forward the following views:"no gender expression in men' s clothing design" has nothing to do with gender and does not conflict with masculinity;it is a review of contemporary social ideology;it is a positive response to the concept of diversified life,aesthetic diversity of clothing and the realization of "shared Wardrobe",so as to achieve the concept of environmental protection of clothing.
