2××× series aluminum alloy is widely used as light metal structural material due to its advantages of low density,good cutting performance and high specific strength,and is widely used in aerospace,automobile,electronic and electrical,medical and other industrial fields.However,it shows poor wear resistance because to the low surface hardness and high friction coefficient of aluminum alloy,lead to its application and development in some fields are limited to a certain extent.In this paper,2014 aluminum alloy was processed by multi-directional forging and aging treatment.The microstructure evolution,the changes of mechanical properties and friction and wear characteristics of the test material were studied by optical microscope(OM),transmission electron microscope(TEM),microhardness tester and scanning electron microscope(SEM).After multi-directional forging,the grain structure of 2014 aluminum alloy was significantly refined,and the strength and hardness were greatly improved,but the elongation decreased sharply.Aging treatment made the grains of multi-directional forging samples grow to a certain extent,the elongation was improved,while the strength and hardness did not decrease significantly.Under the condition of dry sliding wear,the sliding wear resistance of multi direction forging and aging treatment samples is greatly enhanced due to their high hardness and strong work hardening.However,in the two body abrasive wear,due to multi-directional forging and aging treatment still can not change the wear mechanism of micro cutting under hard abrasive wear conditions,the hard abrasive can easily cut the material surface and work hardening is insufficient,resulting in the failure to greatly improve the wear resistance of the sample.In the three body abrasive wear process,the wear mechanism is mainly micro cutting and plastic deformation.The multi-directional forging and aging treatment samples with higher hardness and better plasticity show unique advantages compared with T6 state samples,which improve the wear properties of the test materials.Under different wear conditions,2014 aluminum alloy showed different degrees of improvement in wear properties after multi-directional forging and aging treatment.
