Design And Innovation Of Mokume Gane Technology In Jewelry

The traditional mokume gane craft is a kind of metal craft originated in Japan.Its earliest form was influenced by carved lacquer in the Song Dynasty,and then it became a mature and unique metal craft through the research and development of the inheritors of the craft.Traditional mokume gane technology is characterized by changeable patterns with strong color contrast,which has strong decorative.In jewelry design,mokume gane has become a kind of personal jewelry performance materials,most of its patterns can not be copied,with a unique decorative effect.Due to the difficulty and complexity of mokume gane technology,it can not achieve the flow processing of modern jewelry processing industry,which also makes this traditional metal technology show a unique aesthetic feeling with profound cultural heritage and production connotation in the rapid development of modern society.Through the combination of literature and my production practice,this paper combs the origin and development process of traditional mokume gane,introduces the production process of mokume gane in detail,and expands the surface coloring method in the surface treatment method of mokume gane.This paper describes the application of advanced mechanical tools and modern metal materials in mokume gane,and discusses the innovative design of mokume gane in jewelry.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part introduces the origin and development process of the traditional mokume gane process according to the historical background,and analyzes the development status of the mokume gane process through investigation and research.The second part,through personal practice and theoretical research,summarizes all kinds of metal materials that can be used to make mokume gane,introduces in detail the production process of traditional mokume gane and the method of surface treatment,and sorts out the matters for attention and process difficulties in the process of making mokume gane.The third part introduces the use of modern metal materials and advanced mechanical tools in the production of mokume gane,and expounds its role in the innovation and development of mokume gane.The fourth part describes the style and artistic beauty of the mokume gane process.According to the change of the style of the mokume gane pattern,the design expression of the mokume gane pattern in the jewelry is discussed.In the fifth part,the development of mokume gane jewelry is analyzed by combining the three factors of technology,market and design.In the sixth part,according to my own research and practice on the process of mokume gane,combined with my own experience of geological practice and learning life in the north,I design mokume gane jewelry with geological and geomorphological elements,and expound the innovative expression of today’s mokume gane jewelry design through mokume gane jewelry design works.
