The ruthenium as catalyst is mainly applied in the selective hydrogenation of benzene to prepare cyclohexene and industrial synthetic ammonia,and as magnetic record material is widely used in the information storage industry.The common Ru powder preparation methods include chemical reduction method,sol-gel method,chemical deposition method,etc.In the process of preparing ruthenium,its microscopic appearance has a great influence on it.In the experiment,Micro-spherical Ru particles with varied Brunauer Emmett Teller(BET)surface area(from0.2 m2/g to 56 m2/g)are prepared by spray-pyrolysis methods with(NH4)2RuCl6 as the precursor solution.The experiment controlled the morphology,particle size and distribution of the precursor(NH4)2RuCl6 powder by spray drying treatment;The internal structure of micron-sized spherical Ru powder is adjusted by calcination process,the influence of calcination temperature on the Ru particles is studied;The microstructure transformation mechanisms of spray-dried(NH4)2RuCl6 particles during thermal decomposition was revealed,which is the growth process of Ru.The Ru target made of Ru powder with low BET(0.1963 m2/g),its density is 12.24 g/cm3,the relative density is above 99%,and the Vickers hardness is 481±10Hv;The Ru powder with high BET(56.2313 m2/g)is subjected to sulfur capacity test,and the desulfurization amount is 0.841 g/kg at 24 hours.The preparation of micron-sized Ru powder by spray pyrolysis is simple and easy,and the production continuity can be achieved,and the powder shape size can be controlled.This technology can also be used to prepare other powders with high performance requirements.
