| As a natural biomass material,wood is loved by consumers because of its unique properties and special texture.Pine as a kind of high quality wood,widely used in solid wood furniture,radiata pine is a common children’s solid wood furniture raw material.Radiata pine rich in extracts,some are volatile,and will evaporate into the air,affecting indoor air quality.Nowadays city residence area is small and airtight performance is outstanding,extensive use of radiata pine solid wood furniture can produce odors,cause human body unwell.In order to study the content as well as to decrease the VOCs content in wood,this paper selects radiata pine as the research object.SPME-GC-MS was used to study the change and composition of the content of major VOCs under different treatments;Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)was used to analyze the changes of wood chemical functional groups before and after treatment.And the effects of various treatment methods on wood mechanical properties,surface color and micro morphology were investigated.The main results are the following:1)There were 24 kinds of main VOCs in untreated radiata pine,mainly including alcohols,aromatic compounds,acids,aldehydes,olefins,alkanes and esters.High temperature heat treatment,extraction treatment and oxidation treatment can effectively reduce the relative content of most of the main VOCs in radiata pine samples.Among the three major treatment methods,180~oC high temperature heat treatment,NaHCO3 extraction treatment and ozone oxidation treatment were relatively good in removing the main VOCs in radiata pine.The latter two treatments generated a small amount of newly VOCs(the total relative content is higher than 0.1%and less than 0.6%).The relative content of main VOCs in the sample after NaHCO3extraction treatment was the lowest.2)After 180~oC high temperature heat treatment,there were 18 main VOCs in the samples.The relative contents of olefin,alkanes,aldehydes,alcohols,acids and esters of volatile organic compounds decreased significantly,while the relative contents of aromatic volatile organic compounds remained.After NaHCO3 extraction,samples had 19 main VOCs.The relative content of olefins,alkanes,aldehydes,and alcohols of VOCs had dropped significantly,and acids,esters,and aromatic of VOCs had not been detected.After ozone oxidation treatment,there were 16 main VOCs in the samples.The relative content of olefins,alkanes,aldehydes,alcohols,and esters of VOCs had dropped significantly,and acids and aromatic of VOCs had not been detected.3)High temperature heat treatment,extraction treatment and oxidation treatment influenced the microstructure of radiata pine samples.High temperature heat treatment caused a large change in the color of the samples surface,resulting in a reduction in compressive strength,while extraction treatment and oxidation treatment have little effect on the surface color and compressive strength of radiata pine samples.Through this study,the composition and relative content of VOCs mainly released by radiata pine at room temperature were analyzed and the effects of different treatment techniques on VOCs of radiata pine were compared.The main VOCs methods of radiata pine are discussed to provide reference for the production of higher quality radiata pine furniture. |
