Copper and copper alloys have a long history of use because of their excellent ductility, conductivity and thermal conductivity, and are often used as electrical materials. With the rapid development of electronic technology, the printed circuit board industry is developing towards the high-end and precision, hence, the requirements for the main anode phosphor-copper materials are getting higher and higher.Grain refinement is the current way to improve the strength, hardness and ductility of materials at the same time.It can not only improve the quality of materials, but also improve the mechanical properties and processing properties of materials. As a grain refinement method, cryogenic treatment has been used more and more widely because of its advantages of environmental protection, simple operation and low cost.In this paper, three different states of phosphor-copper in industrial production were used as raw materials, and the experiment work was carried out by adjusting the time of cryogenic treatment.Scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffractometer(XRD),electrochemical workstation and other analytical and detection methods were used to observe the structure and test the performance of phosphorcopper samples,so as to explore the optimal technology suitable for phosphor-copper cryogenic treatment. The results show that the distribution of element P in phosphor-copper is not uniform, and the distribution of element P can be homogenized by cryogenic treatment with a certain length of time. When the length of cryogenic treatment was 6 hours, the grain of phosphor-copper casting rod was refined and the performance was improved, and the cryogenic treatment had the best effect. When the cryogenic treatment lasted for 6 hours, the grain of phosphor-copper extruded bar was refined and the performance was improved.,and the cryogenic treatment had the best effect. When the cryogenic treatment lasted for 6 hours, the grain size of phosphor-copper ball was refined and the performance was improved, and the cryogenic treatment had the best effect.Phosphor-copper ball has the most fine grain and the best performance, followed by extruded phosphor-copper bar, casting phosphor copper rod is relatively poor, and cryogenic treatment has the most significant effect on extruded phosphor-copper bar. With the increase of cryogenic treatment time, the difference of structure and performance between the core part and the edge part of the extruded phosphor-copper bar is gradually reduced, and similar effect will appear on the casting phosphor-copper rod and phosphor copper ball. And the effect trend of cryogenic treatment on the three states is the same. The phosphor-copper ball with the smallest grain and the best performance was treated by 6h cryogenic treatment. Therefore, the grain size will be refined enough, the performance will be improved enough, and the influence of the site will be weak enough to be applied to the actual industrial production.
