This is a study on temperature tensile and heat treatment for TC16 titanium wire alloy used for aerospace fasteners.The raw materials are melted by VAR furnace(ZH-6000),forged by 10,000 t free forging press(80/100MN)and rolled by precision forging machine and unit of such machines for many times for making the billet.A lot of research on different hot processing method during the temperature tensile process,and the relationship between the wire hot treatment process after temperature tensile and microstructure and properties of TC16 wires,details are as follows:(1)Different heating temperature and time influence the microstructure and properties of wires.(2)Different annealing specification have influence on microstructure and properties of wires.(3)Solution and aging have influence on microstructure and properties of wires.(4)The changing of heating temperature and deformation ratio have influence on microstructure and properties of wires.The analysis are done by upright metallurgical microscope(Axio SKOP2MAT)for changing principle,and chemical property for samples on different conditions by electrical multi-function material testing machine(WDW-E100).By comparison analysis between microstructure and mechanical property on different hot machining process and heat treatment principle,such conclusions can be made according to test.(1)During special temperature,we can get the conclusion that the organization shape changes a little by the increasing time of heating.That implies when heating insingle phase,the organization and property is not so sensitive to heating time.With the adding of holding time and rising of heating temperature,the grain becomes coarse,obvious on grain boundary,obvious drop on tensile strength and plastic index,and lower cutting property.(2)Special analysis are made on the deformation resistant force influenced by heating temperature and deformation ratio for TC16 wires.Deformation temperature are separately controlled on 700?,800?,900?,1000?,1100?,and deformation ratio(s-1)are separately controlled on 10-2,1,10,102,and the tensile strength of material are rising with the temperature,and slowly flow down.The yield strength is firstly rising with the rising temperature,and the maximum appears around 760? and have a flow down trend.(3)With the continuous rising of annealing temperature,room tensile strength separately appears minimum value around 820?(cooling method A)and 780?(cooling method B)on different annealing principle.And obvious seen by cooling method A.By analysis of reduction of area of property curve,reduction is obvious when annealing temperature is rising.(4)When the aging principle is same,the strength of TC16 wires will rise with the rising solution temperature.And Alloy element will perfectly mix with solution body,which lead to high strength and a lot of tiny diffusion are separated out.With The time adding and aging temperature increasing,the strength will be dropped,and plastic will rise.By comprehensive organization and property analysis after hot processing and hot treatment,superior industry process can be chosen for improving the product property.
