Research On Suzhou Gardens' Landscaping Techniques In Jewelry Design

Suzhou's classical gardens are treasure in the traditional Chinese culture.Studying landscaping techniques of Suzhou's gardens requires not only inheritance and promotion of traditions,but also integration of traditional culture into contemporary artistic design to achieve coexistence and common prosperity of traditional and contemporary art.Therefore,through analyzing landscaping techniques of Suzhou's gardens and summarizing applications of space layout and landscaping techniques in jewelry design,this paper is aimed at providing new research ideas for better promoting the excellent traditional culture in jewelry designThis paper consists of four parts:in the first part,the status quo of domestic and foreign research on landscaping techniques of Suzhou's gardens is described;the second part is an overview of characteristics of landscaping techniques of Suzhou's gardens and applications of these landscaping techniques in other art fields;in the third part,associations between landscaping techniques of Suzhou's gardens and jewelry design are discussed;and the fourth part is personal practice of applying landscaping techniques,which puts more emphasis on the "landscapes" that are built.In the graduation project,the main design was focused on referring to landscapes,and two collections were created:for one collection,"light" was taken as landscapes,and for another collection,"humans" were taken as landscapes.
